Memorial Day May 30

Memorial Day is one of the most celebrated federal holidays in United States which is observed on the last Monday of May. The day was formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. soldiers who died while serving to nation.
Memorial Day time and again marks the start of the summer vacation season, and Labor Day its end.The Memorial Day celebration begun as ritual of remembrance and reconciliation after the civil war in America. In the early 20th century, it was celebrated as an occasion for more general expressions of memory, as people visited the graves of their deceased relatives, whether they had served in the military or not.

It was first enacted to honor Union and Confederate soldiers following the American Civil War, the commemoration was extended post World War I to honor Americans who died in wars.
It also became a long weekend progressively more devoted to shopping, family meet, fireworks, visit to the beach, and several media events such as the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 auto races.

Most of the Americans observe the Day by visiting cemeteries and memorials. A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3 p.m. local time. Another tradition is to fly the flag of the United States this year it will be celebrated on May 30.

Miami is one of the highly celebrated beach here streams of tourists are expected to pack South Beach this Memorial Day weekend, meaning closed roads, large crowds and plenty of police on the streets for those who work and live on Miami Beach. Beginning Thursday, Miami Beach will begin ramping up staffing levels.

The officials are expecting that tumbling economy and rising gasoline price will reduce the expenditure budget of the people. In the year 2010, Miami city spent about $1 million to handle the Memorial Day crowds, which typically begin arriving Thursday this year, is going to be more challenging for the administration. The city is hosting a Memorial Day ceremony at the Miami Beach Police Department headquarters at 1100 Washington Avenue 10 a.m. Monday.
