UPSC Civil Services 2012 Examination: Strategy Simplifying IAS Exam

One must go through the complete syllabus and previous year questions prior to reading the please take an overview of the UPSC Civil Service Pre Syllabus

To be successful in the Civil Services Exam, applicants requires proper strategy to manage the preparation of the examination. Following strategy can be the recopies for cracking the CS(P) Exam in time-framed manner.

Divide the task:
Applicant needs to break the UPSC CSAT EXAM preparation in smaller areas/topics. There are II papers in CSP Examination, saying General Studies (GS) and General Aptitude.

After proper analysis, and repetitive plans, one needs to decide in favour of dividing the GS (General Studies) syllabus in Eight Equal Parts:

First four parts of GS, is the Foundation of your preparatory drive

  1. Economics and Social Development
  2. Indian Polity (Special place to Constitution of Union of India)
  3. Geography
  4. History

Other four parts of GS, are also very important for main as well as interview

  1. General Issues: Environment, Bio-Diversity and Climate Change
  2. Current Affairs
  3. General Knowledge
  4. General Science

Now, let’s see Paper II of UPSC CSAT Exam, basically, it looks that UPSC is judging personality and behavioral aspects of the applicants in the changing scenario. (You will need lot of practice to master this paper II)

We can divide General Aptitude roughly in Five Equal Parts (note that, division in GS section seems superior!):-

1. English and Comprehension
2. Interpersonal skills including communication skills
3. Logical reasoning and analytical ability
4. Decision making and problem solving
5. Aptitude including DI

Student need to work on their strength to crack the paper after getting minimum knowledge of every segment.

here is the key:

Students does commit mistakes in the examination hall where they don't have any retake opportunity ,It is obvious that even the single mistake has the potential to ruin your Year.

Although CSAT is qualifying in nature but failure led to disaster for the serious applicants so it cant be played lightly.

It is always advisable that candidates must create examination condition at their home and go for model paper solving.

The above practice will make them capable to minimize the mistake in live examination however if student work on their mistake while solving model answer they will able to ratify it in time and it will increase its probability to crack the paper more.

Knowledge does not matter in the examination until it delivered so applicant must work on delivery part because here most of the failed students falls.

So one need to focus on this part because it is the most neglected zone by applicant most of the time the invests in knowledge getting and after examination they complains ..I was knowing this answer but committed mistake in examination......

Lack of delivery technique will cost you more ....

JPSC Mains Date out BPSC Mains Examination on back burner

Ranchi,Apr,1:The recent dates of the JPSC mains examination is ruined the probability of BPSC mains exam because BPSC was planning to conduct the examination during that period,  BPSC was counted the UPSC CSAT-2012 before taking its call but mindless game of JPSC came as the prime hurdle.

Although it is sure that widespread irregularity on which JPSC is playing date game in court is giving no hope that examination will be conducted with current set of result but commission manipulative decision turned out to be painful for the BPSC aspirant.

JPSC is always complicating the issue because it seems goverment don't have any intrest in its proper functioning.

Subject Strategy - How to choose your subjects for the Civil Services Mains exam

How to choose the optionals? That's one question that haunts every applicant many times, loose precious time waiting for that decision to happen.

As per nwe exam plan  UPSC has done away with opional paper at the preliminary stage, students should perhaps find it easier way to get down to preprations straight away. Even then, One must chooose one's subject well ahead of time, so as to have ample time to arrange study matterial and books, and also to form study groups.

Normally applicants decides optionals, which one is familiar with, or has at least studied till the graduate level. If you are not  familiar with the paper, you must  not select the subject as an optional.

The choice must not only be as per the interests but also be based on the study material and proper guidence available.

The science and engineering students chooses the subjects like grography, political science, psychology history, sociology, anthropology, and public administration because there is a huge amount of study content available in these subjects.

One must keep in mind that  being  proficient in a subject, but lack of touch may make it tougher to crack technical subject where freshers may do better. The competition is among the people who have opted for the same subject. One should top in his/her subject to succeed in the examination. The Point is, if you are an electrical engineer with 2 years of experience go for a new subject like pub adm or sociology.

Analyse the syllabus of previous years and the question papers, and analyse past trends. Get some feedback/advice from seniors and fellow students who are well versed in the subject. Remember no subject is bad. History is good if you can spend more than 4-5 hours everyday. Geography is a good option if you can spend at least 4 hrs every day. Pub Ad, more than 3 hours. Sociology, more than 2 hours and so on.... So, it all depends on how much time you can spend a day and your liking of the subject. You have a very good memory then a technical subject may help else a social subject would be better. Lastly look for overlap in subjects like, sociology and pubad; history and political science etc.

Subject Combinations not allowed by UPSC for IAS exam

The following are some combinations that the UPSC does not allow:

Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration

Commerce and Management

Anthropology and Sociology

Maths and Statistics

Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science

Management and Public Administration

Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science

Any two branches of engineering.

Combination of two literatures.

Bihar Economic Growth Topic for BPSC

Patna,Mar,31:In the last ten years, Bihar has received considerable attention across the country and abroad for its remarkable ride on the development front. For a state which had suffered stagnation for longer period and which had almost resigned to its perpetual backwardness, this was a turning point, leading to new hopes and aspirations.

The transformation was seen because of the state government's firm commitment to an agenda of development which is both speedy and inclusive. To fulfill its growth agenda, the state government's had not only utilized its available resources most prudently, but had also strengthened its administrative machinery and introduced a number of institutional reforms.

The results clearly reflects that the past growth momentum of the state's economy was not a short term phenomenon, but the beginning of a long term stable growth run.

Definition dilemma for Indian Poverty

The poverty count parameters don’t counts education, unemployment and health the nature of poverty is human but in India it is just a statistics. People and organizations working on the ground level in India, and elsewhere, can testify to what defines poverty.

Statistics are important because they give the public perspective and they frame an issue neatly. But poverty is far from systematic because it is dynamic. If it was, an absolute solution would have been invented a long time ago.

The basic need for the India is to make a proper and productive attack on the building blocks of the poverty like education, unemployment, agriculture infrastructure, health facility to tame the poverty which is beyond the definition.

India is losing its fiscal discipline because some irrational policy measure additional particularly subsidizing the people who can afford it is the prime bump in the policy, sluggish capital expenditure irrational interest rate delaying in execution of projects increasing unemployment deteriorating living standards are the real block where Indian poverty stands.

There is no holy grail but good governance and concentrated policy measure can contribute to arrest spreading poverty in India.

Wait could be even longer for BSSC Sachivalaya Sahayak Mains Examination

As about 4 lakh students are eying for their name in the delaying PT result of Sachivalaya sahayak examination, which will declare any time soon, the mains examination can see distant delay.

The reason could be upcoming BPSC mains examination which is going to start from second half of May as per the updates coming out from BPSC.

Not even this several examinations are also lined up if BSSC will not conduct their examination before the August 2012.

SSC mains,JPSC mains,UPSC Mains,UPPSC Mains all fall in line so students will found themselves in difficult position.

JPSC Meshed with Manipulation

The uncertainty confusion with distract and anxiety became the fate of the aspirants who appeared for the Civil Services Examinations conducted by the JPSC.

Controversy laden JPSC seems to hiding behind nothing as hearing of the 4Th JPSC PT examination has started in the Ranchi High Court after delaying for the months and the office of the JPSC bussy with handling the RTI application seeking the details of the previous examination.

Commissions’ attitude is unacceptable for every candidate no matter they passed or they failed in 4th PT or finally successful aspirants in its previous examination. After the misconduct highlighted by the vigilance inquiry regarding the 1st and 2nd and the latest appointments by 3rd JPSC examination also came under deep controversy as some information about the manipulation in marks is coming out through RTI that puts serious question mark on the functioning of the JPSC.

BPSC to frame Level Playing field

BPSC to balance the question pattern to make the level playing field for the applicants of the  upcoming Civil Services Examination after the High Court directives.

A division bench of the Patna high court, comprising Justice A Amanullah and Justice S K Katriar and has already directed Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) to frame rules for bringing uniformity in the marking system for different subjects.

A PIL was filed in this context by the examinees of 53rd and 55th combined BPSC civil services examination.
Petitioners’ felt that in certain subjects, the questions varied in their level of complexity, and examiners were liberal in some papers and strict in others.

The PIL seeks to create a level-playing field, Kaushik said. The court directed on August 26 to BPSC to frame laws in this regard within six months. The rules would be followed at the upcoming mains examination.

Holy Grail in JPSC Regional language

Amid increasing anxiety among the applicants who appeared for the JPSC Civil Services Examination, Commission is seems to hiding behind nothing as trial of the 4Th JPSC PT has begun in the Ranchi High Court and the office of Commission is flooded with the RTI application.

JPSC is again planning to conduct the mains examination from April 12 and there is euphoria amongst the applicants to take one optional as the regional paper because this is the Holy Grail for them.

PIL Filed Against JPSC Result

It seems that controversy is not going to leave in hurry for JPSC as a new PIL has been filed in Ranchi High Court Demanding the Cancelation of 4th JPSC PT examination.

The PIL also cited all the proofs regarding the corruption or inefficient act of JPSC including Scaling, Violation of notification, errors in the Answer key and many more.....!

It looks now this examination has became the cake that anyone can bite on it...

Nobody is getting benefited with such tussle court is loosing reputation because its delayed response, government is not getting officers to improve governance in the state, people are unable to get job and JPSC is also struggling to uplift its already dented reputation.

This is the way Indian system works...

If JPSC would have gone proactively students would have preparing for 5th JPSC Examination and even more, but unfortunately in more than two years of time they are unable to handle PT examination  where only 60k student participated which is probably lowest attendance for any PSC in country the attendance itself discloses the interest of students for such a prime job.

BPSC ,BSSC and JPSC Keeps students waiting

The prime recruitment body of Bihar Jharkhand is always make headline because of the functional errors that commonly commits in every examination, apart from this applicants also face another trauma.

The trauma is all about waiting and waiting ...for the general information from the commission like notification, examination and result date like UPSC,UPPSC,MPSC etc .

These organizations is that they don’t have any examination calendar to follow on so applicant keeps always waiting and wasting their precious hours in unproductive work.

It is really frustrating to see this behavior of the commissions, I was going through the face book where people are trying to dig the update but unfortunately all the deadlines are gone so no News is the News for now.

I want to quote the post of an applicant Mr Amit Srivastwa on Facebook" Checking of any update is really boring if u don't find any new information. It's better to wait for notification/ result on original site.Taking rest till dt. See u all.Bye bye."

His statement is a common mindset of the applicant who has appeared for the examination conducted by BPSC,JPSC,and BSSC..

These organizations don’t have any time line to work on.... So Poor Chaps Keep WAITING....

Ranchi High Court to hear the JPSC 4th PT Case on March 14

The date myopia is continue in the Ranchi High Court as far as JPSC 4th PT matter is concerned.

The 4th JPSC case will come before the high court on March 14 but previous history says that commission will once again try to extend the date.

It seems that JPSC wants the date to be extended till the mains examination ,once it will be conducted successfully and then they can put further pressure on the court by citing the mains examination.

The situation is emerging like a popular quote about the Indian Judiciary system that "Justice delayed is Justice denied" In this case it seems true.

Government disinterest in the JPSC recurrent method further meshing the situation because no one want to touch scam laden, dented, inefficient malfunctioning organization of Jharkhand.

JPSC is has lost the opportunity to wash their earlier dirt under the chairmanship of Shiv Basant ,the recent administrative decision of Chairman has further dented the already defamed JPSC.

JPSC Going to Change 5th Civil Services Examination Pattern

Depleting interest of the applicants prompted the state government in Jharkahnd to design  the syllabus of state Civil Services Examination taken by JPSC according to UPSC.

The state government has already issued  the guidelines to the  JPSC as per prevailing system ,JPSC adopts the BPSC way in the mains examination however in PT they follows old UPSC pattern with General Studies and Optional with some changes .

JPSC officials are in the way to complete the process of syllabus development at the earliest.

This would seek the attention of quality candidates going for UPSC towards the JPSC recruitment, which would help the JPSC in selecting better officers for the prime job in Jharkhand.

The UPSC pattern would be followed in Preliminary and as well as Mains exams so there will be a CSAT which was already adopted by the UPPSC.

Following the direction of the s government, the Personnel Department has instructed JPSC to start working in the same direction.

“State government has instructed JPSC to design the syllabus as per the UPSC pattern. The new syllabus would be implemented from the next civil service exam,” stated a senior Personnel Department officer.

JPSC Must act to save its image before it gets too late

No matter what court will say an eye opening story here

I
am pasting some of the important line of the article posted at polyeyes...

It seems eye opner...

"It's not unusual for the youth of Jharkhand to have goose bumps every now and then as there is no dearth of crimes and corruption in the State. Whatever second person say funniest and scariest because the recently conducted JPSC exam surpasses all the other vices so intrinsic to Jharkhand, at least to all the aspiring yet unemployed youths. It gives a feeling of hopelessness and helplessness leaving them demoralized and dejected"
