The WBCHSE will announced that the names of 20 top students along with the HS results , following as it was done with the Madhyamik board that revived the merit list after years.The HS council decided to identify the toppers after discussing the matter with the state government.
Earlier it was the rutine act but it was stopped in 2005 in keeping with a central policy to make school examinations student-friendly and stress-less.“We are trying to prepare a list of the 20 best performers which we will announce at the time of declaring the results on June 4,” said S.S. Dutta Gupta, the secretary of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, on Monday.
According to him, the list will be “provisional” as students’ ranks might change after review of answer scripts.“We decided to publish the merit list after consulting the state government this morning,” he added.
