Patna: Oct, 17: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) missed its own deadline for the evaluation for the 53-55 the Mains examination papers.
According to the source close to the development, commission had earlier sets its deadline to conclude the entire evaluation process by the September end later it was extended up to 15th October and now it was learned that new deadline has emerged which is of October 31st.
The snail pace of the evaluation was caused by the nonavailability of adequate number of evaluators, it was also learned that BPSC has received the request latter from earlier paneled teachers about their unavailability for the evaluation process.
In line with the above outcome BPSC has written the universities of the state to submit the teachers list to impanel them with BPSC for the evaluation.
Under the ongoing development result is bound to get delayed as we are moving towards the festive season so the result can be expected in December or January 2013.

Harop 'killer' drones to Barak
anti-missile defence systems and
Green Pine radars, Python and
Derby air-to-air missiles.
Sources said India expressed
"concern'' at the "two-year
delay'' in completion of the long-
range SAM (LR-SAM) project,
sanctioned in December 2005 at
a cost of Rs 2,606 crore to arm
Indian warships.
There are "minor hitches'' even
in the bigger Rs 10,076 crore
medium-range SAM (MR-SAM)
project, sanctioned in February
2009 for air defence squadrons
of IAF.
Both the SAM systems, being
developed by Israeli Aerospace
Industries (IAI) in collaboration
with DRDO, have the same
missile with an interception
range of 70-km. They are to be
produced in bulk by defence PSU
Bharat Dynamics (BDL) to plug
the existing holes in India's air
defence cover.
"While the multi-function
surveillance and threat radars,
weapon control systems with
data links and the like of the LR-
SAM have all been tested, there
has been delay in the missiles
being developed by IAI,'' said a
source.
"But the Israelis said everything
was sorted out now and they will
try to make up for the delay.
DRDO has already finished its
work on the propulsion and
other systems,'' he added.
Incidentally, the LR-SAM project
was to be completed by May this
year.
Another major missile project,
worth around $1 billion, that
Israel could bag is the one to
supply third-generation anti-tank
guided missiles (ATGMs) to the
1.13-million strong Indian Army.
The Army has already trial-
evaluated the Israeli 'Spike'
ATGM after the US offer of its
'Javelin' missiles was shelved due
to Washington's reluctance to
undertake "transfer of
technology'' to ensure BDL can
make them in large numbers, as
reported by TOI earlier.
India is also in commercial
negotiations for another two
advanced Israeli Phalcon AWACS
(airborne warning and control
systems), capable of detecting
hostile aircraft, cruise missiles
and other incoming aerial
threats far before ground-based
radars, at a cost of over $800
million. The first three Phalcon
AWACS were inducted by IAF in
2009-2010 under the $1.1 billion
tripartite agreement between
India, Israel and Russia.

After clinching Rs
99,000-crore deal to equip the
Indian Air Force with Dassault
Aviation’s Rafale fighters, the
government is now eying to acquire
next generation submarines
manufactured by France.
According to a report by the
Hindustan Times, the government
is willing to spend more than $10
billion ( Rs 55,000 crore) to
strengthen Indian Navy’s undersea
combat capabilities.
Confirming the development Navy
chief Admiral DK Joshi said the
Defence Ministry’s acquisition
council had given the go-ahead for
buying six submarines under a
project codenamed P-75I.
Joshi also stated that a global
tender in this regard would be
floated very soon.
Joshi said the new subs – bigger
than the Scorpene – would be
equipped with air-independent
propulsion systems to recharge
their batteries without having to
surface for more than three weeks.
“The submarines would also be
equipped with land attack missile
capability,” Defence Minister AK
Antony informed the Lok Sabha on
Tuesday.
Currently, six Scorpene-class
submarines are being built at the
Mazagon Dock Ltd with technology
from DCNS under a $4.3-billion
( Rs. 23,562 crore) project called
P-75
The Indian Navy’s existing
submarine fleet is rather humble,
consisting of just 10 Russian Kilo-
class, four German HDWs and an
Akula-2 nuclear-powered attack
submarine leased from Russia at $1
billion ( Rs. 5,500 crore).
After the go ahead, major
shipbuilders including DCNS of
France, HDW of Germany,
Rosoboronexport of Russia and
Navantia of Spain are expected to
bid for the mega deal to build a
second line of submarines for
India.
Clearly, government’s move to
acquire next generation subm
arines
is aimed at countering the threat
emerging from China, which has
more than 50 conventional
submarines in its fleet, but nearly
two-thirds of those are outdated.

scenario.
"The UPSC have submitted a
proposal to the Central
Government, suggesting certain
changes in the existing scheme of
Civil Services (Main) examination
to make it more relevant with the
present day, global as well as
internal scenario on the basis of
the report of a committee,"

Narayanasamy told Rajya Sabha in
a written reply.
The committee was constituted
under the chairmanship of Prof
Arun S Nigavekar, former
chairman, University Grants
Commission (UGC). "Till now, no
decision has been taken by the
government on these
recommendations," the Minister
said.
Personnel for the Indian
Administrative Service, Indian
Police Serce, Indian Foreign
Service along with several other
Central services are recruited by
the UPSC through the Civil
Services examination. Every year
lakhs of people take the exam,
which is considered to be one of
the toughest to crack.
