The passanger name record which is popularly known as PNR in india is the database of a computer reservation system(CRS) that contains the information for the railway passangers in India .

When a passanger books the ticket from railway counter or via agent or through web sites of IRCTC the PNR number automatically generated by the reservation system.

The PNR status can be checked through the railway database which available through the web site and SMS as well.

Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) Sachivalay Sahayak PT Result update

Patna,Feb,7:Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) who had conducted the Combined Graduate Level Sachivalaya Sahayak Exam on 18-12-2011 is finalizing the result pubication process for the PT examination. As per the sources of the SSC the commission will soon release the result.

The officials also added that SSC is trying to make full proof system to prepare the result without errors the tentetive date of the Result is February 15.

The PT exam was objectives type and it was comprising of three section with 50 question in every section contains general science, math and reasoning.

UPSC Releases Civil Services Exam 2012 notification

New Delhi,Feb,7:India's top most exam, Civil Services Examination, is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) every year to recruit the best applicant into the top level administrative Job of India.

The dates of the Civil Services Examination-2012 have officially announced by UPSC  as the notification of 2012 Civil Services Examination.

The pattern remains unchanged.

Last Date for Applying:-- 5th March, 2012

Date of Civil Services Preliminary Test, 2012:-- 20th May 2012; 1 Day

Candidates want revocation of MPSC civil services examination

IMPHAL, Feb 7: Even if the Combined Manipur Civil Services (Mains) Examination, 2011 is scheduled to begin from February , several applicants want cancilation of the examination amidst petitions filed to Gauhati High Court by different groups of candidates citing irregularities and malpractices in the PT.

Talking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, several students who have filed a petition to Gauhati High Court stated that it would be inappropriate on the part of Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) to hold the mains examination before the High Court gives its verdict. The hearing for their appeal is due on February 27.

7 out of 200 questions asked in the PT were  incorrect. The Gauhati High Court had earlier directed the commission to reevaluate the answer sheets of 11 petitioners by making necessary rectifications.

It may be mentioned that 725 out of about 6000 candidates cleared the prelims held in 2011. However, the candidates and some student bodies have brought out the mistakes in the questions and demanded re-examination of the PT.
