UPSC Civil Services 2012 Examination: Strategy Simplifying IAS Exam

One must go through the complete syllabus and previous year questions prior to reading the please take an overview of the UPSC Civil Service Pre Syllabus

To be successful in the Civil Services Exam, applicants requires proper strategy to manage the preparation of the examination. Following strategy can be the recopies for cracking the CS(P) Exam in time-framed manner.

Divide the task:
Applicant needs to break the UPSC CSAT EXAM preparation in smaller areas/topics. There are II papers in CSP Examination, saying General Studies (GS) and General Aptitude.

After proper analysis, and repetitive plans, one needs to decide in favour of dividing the GS (General Studies) syllabus in Eight Equal Parts:

First four parts of GS, is the Foundation of your preparatory drive

  1. Economics and Social Development
  2. Indian Polity (Special place to Constitution of Union of India)
  3. Geography
  4. History

Other four parts of GS, are also very important for main as well as interview

  1. General Issues: Environment, Bio-Diversity and Climate Change
  2. Current Affairs
  3. General Knowledge
  4. General Science

Now, let’s see Paper II of UPSC CSAT Exam, basically, it looks that UPSC is judging personality and behavioral aspects of the applicants in the changing scenario. (You will need lot of practice to master this paper II)

We can divide General Aptitude roughly in Five Equal Parts (note that, division in GS section seems superior!):-

1. English and Comprehension
2. Interpersonal skills including communication skills
3. Logical reasoning and analytical ability
4. Decision making and problem solving
5. Aptitude including DI

Student need to work on their strength to crack the paper after getting minimum knowledge of every segment.

here is the key:

Students does commit mistakes in the examination hall where they don't have any retake opportunity ,It is obvious that even the single mistake has the potential to ruin your Year.

Although CSAT is qualifying in nature but failure led to disaster for the serious applicants so it cant be played lightly.

It is always advisable that candidates must create examination condition at their home and go for model paper solving.

The above practice will make them capable to minimize the mistake in live examination however if student work on their mistake while solving model answer they will able to ratify it in time and it will increase its probability to crack the paper more.

Knowledge does not matter in the examination until it delivered so applicant must work on delivery part because here most of the failed students falls.

So one need to focus on this part because it is the most neglected zone by applicant most of the time the invests in knowledge getting and after examination they complains ..I was knowing this answer but committed mistake in examination......

Lack of delivery technique will cost you more ....

JPSC Mains Date out BPSC Mains Examination on back burner

Ranchi,Apr,1:The recent dates of the JPSC mains examination is ruined the probability of BPSC mains exam because BPSC was planning to conduct the examination during that period,  BPSC was counted the UPSC CSAT-2012 before taking its call but mindless game of JPSC came as the prime hurdle.

Although it is sure that widespread irregularity on which JPSC is playing date game in court is giving no hope that examination will be conducted with current set of result but commission manipulative decision turned out to be painful for the BPSC aspirant.

JPSC is always complicating the issue because it seems goverment don't have any intrest in its proper functioning.

Subject Strategy - How to choose your subjects for the Civil Services Mains exam

How to choose the optionals? That's one question that haunts every applicant many times, loose precious time waiting for that decision to happen.

As per nwe exam plan  UPSC has done away with opional paper at the preliminary stage, students should perhaps find it easier way to get down to preprations straight away. Even then, One must chooose one's subject well ahead of time, so as to have ample time to arrange study matterial and books, and also to form study groups.

Normally applicants decides optionals, which one is familiar with, or has at least studied till the graduate level. If you are not  familiar with the paper, you must  not select the subject as an optional.

The choice must not only be as per the interests but also be based on the study material and proper guidence available.

The science and engineering students chooses the subjects like grography, political science, psychology history, sociology, anthropology, and public administration because there is a huge amount of study content available in these subjects.

One must keep in mind that  being  proficient in a subject, but lack of touch may make it tougher to crack technical subject where freshers may do better. The competition is among the people who have opted for the same subject. One should top in his/her subject to succeed in the examination. The Point is, if you are an electrical engineer with 2 years of experience go for a new subject like pub adm or sociology.

Analyse the syllabus of previous years and the question papers, and analyse past trends. Get some feedback/advice from seniors and fellow students who are well versed in the subject. Remember no subject is bad. History is good if you can spend more than 4-5 hours everyday. Geography is a good option if you can spend at least 4 hrs every day. Pub Ad, more than 3 hours. Sociology, more than 2 hours and so on.... So, it all depends on how much time you can spend a day and your liking of the subject. You have a very good memory then a technical subject may help else a social subject would be better. Lastly look for overlap in subjects like, sociology and pubad; history and political science etc.

Subject Combinations not allowed by UPSC for IAS exam

The following are some combinations that the UPSC does not allow:

Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration

Bihar Economic Growth Topic for BPSC

Patna,Mar,31:In the last ten years, Bihar has received considerable attention across the country and abroad for its remarkable ride on the development front. For a state which had suffered stagnation for longer period and which had almost resigned to its perpetual backwardness, this was a turning point, leading to new hopes and aspirations.

The transformation was seen because of the state government's firm commitment to an agenda of development which is both speedy and inclusive. To fulfill its growth agenda, the state government's had not only utilized its available resources most prudently, but had also strengthened its administrative machinery and introduced a number of institutional reforms.

The results clearly reflects that the past growth momentum of the state's economy was not a short term phenomenon, but the beginning of a long term stable growth run.
