General Electric (GE) achieved a 21.6 % rise in profit, by beating the analysts estimates


New York, July,22:One of the leading conglomerates of the world General Electric (GE) achieved a 21.6 % rise in profit, by beating the analysts estimates, due to strong surge in the demand outside the US for its heavy equipment including jet engines and electric turbines.

The shares of General Electric  up 2.3 % in premarket trading, after the upbeat number the Q2 performance attributable to common shareholders came to $3.69 billion, or 35 cents per share, with respect to $3.03 billion, or 28 cents per share, a year earlier.

Considering the one-time items, earning was 34 cents per share. On that basis, analysts had estimated for profit of 32 cents per share, according to Thomson Reuters.

The Revenue of General Electric dipped 3.5 % to $35.63 billion, from the last year $37.44 billion, reflecting the sale of a majority holding in its NBC Universal business to Comcast. Analysts had expected $34.7 billion.

General Electric is a minority shareholder in CNBC and CNBC.com.General Electric joins a slew of big U.S. Company reporting Q2 results this week. Their results have been mixed.

Companies that do big busines in outside the US, such as United Technologies, have exceeded Street’s expectations.

The industrial side of the business is "a larger and larger percent of the whole business," Jack de Gan, Principal and Senior Advisor at Harbor Advisory, said over CNBC.

The capital moves that General Electric is making "are all things that are very shareholder-friendly," de Gan said, adding that another dividend rise may be in the cards within a year.

Patna,July,21:Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has transformed their mode of working as commission has started using IT services to improve the efficiency and convenience for the applicant.

UPPSC postpones Food Inspector Examination

Allahabad, July 20: Uttar Pradesh Public service commission (UPPSC) has postponed the Food Inspector examination which is going to be held on July 24, 2011. 

The UPPSC sources have told that the Government of India has introduced new act –Food Security and Standard Act 2011 which will replac the previous act. The new act will be effective from August 05, 2011.

According to the new act the post of Food Inspector has been replaced by Food Security Officer and the eligibility criteria have also been changed. The UPPSC sources also told that we will take further action to conduct Food Inspector examination after consulting with related department of Government of India. We have forwarded our request to Government of India through Uttar Pradesh Government.

The UPPSC has released a notification to cancel the Food Inspector examination on his website http://uppsc.org.in/. Now these posts are under scrutiny and it may be filled by fresh notification or remain filled by UPPSC.

JPSC Web Site Became Live after Long Time

Ranchi,July,19:After the admit card downloading failures that led to the extension of the JPSC PT examination the Web site was offline so  applicants were unable to get information from the web sites of the JPSC

As the last acting Chairman RC Kaithal retired from office in January this year, Hassan was working as the chairman after the State Government decided to appoint him as acting chairman of the Commission. After Kaithal’s retirement, the number of members was reduced to two.But now the new Chairman occupied the office

The first achievement of Siiv Basant is that finally after long time the site of JPSC is working.
As some activity has begun in the JPSC so the aspirants are being optimistic about the 4th PT result.

JPSC is facing severe staff shortage, so they are finding it difficult to discharge its duties on time, as 18 examinations scheduled to be conducted by the JPSC in this year. They have conducted the JPSC 4th PT earlier in this year which result is delaying by the commission.

Silver Gold Price all set to go Further

New York:Amid speculation over debt deal in US ,Comex gold and silver futures prices are trading at new higher Monday morning on more safe-haven investment demand.The wide spread debt crises already gripped in Europe and now  U.S. is also spreading bad news.

 The debt problems on both sides of the ocean have pressurized most of the world’s currency markets, and gold is now standing out as the “currency” of the world, in many investors’ eyes.
