The interview holds 150 marks and a good performance can give you up to 120 marks which will be important to see your name in merit list.

The questions are asked associated to your name like the meaning of your name, surname, the reason for carrying a long surname or surnames if anybody has and some fact about the famous personality which has same name as you.

Candidates must prepare some important events linked to the year or the date of your birth. A big chunk of the questions are mainly from what you have filled in your form including your Optionals, hobbies, service preferences opted by you etc.

Thus you are expected to put more efforts on the interview as a test of logic and presentation and general awareness rather than a pure subjective or factual knowledge however experts may ask some factual as well.

Applicants are expected to be aware of the burning topics that cover National and International news events. Questions are asked on  profession/professions/existing job is one is teacher, than he could be asked questions on any ongoing issues associated with education field. If one have economics background, than you will be tested on the current economic/stock market/European debt crisis/foreign trade etc.

The Interview board may ask you about the applicability of the current profession  of the applicant if he will be in the Public Services in Bihar. So, applicants are expected to prepare well on all the possible questions relating their past and present careers.

Situational reaction questions or SRT may also crop up in the interview, for example, the interviewers may ask you a question throwing a typical situation in front of you and they would ask you how you would be dealing effectively with the given situation.

The question might be something like if you were the SDM/DYSP of Patna/Betiah/Badd/ what would you do after the public clash in the city? So, you are supposed to develop an analytical and foreseen thinker mind to face the Public Service Commission interview.

BPSC Interview questions range from the questions regarding applicant’s choice of Optional subjects to why you want to join the civil services in Bihar.

Applicant must Carry themselves well in well dressed ,groomed manner because it will have lasting impression.

Overall a thorough and overall brush up of your career and personality as a whole are to be tested when you prepare for the BPSC Interview.

BPSC ka Interview average 12-15 minutes tak hota hai. isme generally aapke bio-data,home town,Bihar ke law and order aur development se related question puche jaate rahe hai. rapid fire round me kuch factual question bhi puche jaate hai. agar aap 70 percent answer satisfactory dete ho to marks 90+ jaroor aayenge. previous two attempt me mera yahi experience raha hai

dear friend bssc ka case no 10268/2012 pichle 18 july se cause list me hai lekin abhi tak hearing ka date nahi mil paaya hai. shayad august last tak koi hearing ho jaye.

BPSC me interview ke just baad koi medical nahi hoti hai.jab aapka police verification ho jaata hai tab aapko joining letter bheja jaata hai. usi letter me medical board ke paas test ki information hoti hai. medical test me B.P., ECG,URINE AND BLOOD TEST etc hota hai.

  35. English medium students always gets better marks in comparison to the Hindi medium students if both respond same quality answer of the question asked by the Board member.

There are few example that several board members asks question in Hindi so students must answer in their own adopted language.

My few friends has faced several question in Hindi despite of the fact that he opted English medium.

He always responded in English with 70% accuracy as per his assessment and got 105 marks.

    ReplyDelete
  36. My dear friends language is not the issue in the BPSC Interview as question are asked in mixed language so we can go for Hindi or English as asked question language.

How can one work in Bihar by Ignoring Hindi in Hindi speaking State.

So feel free and respond in the language in which you are comfortable.

Language won't matter here only the content and expression matters before the Board.

    This is my Personal opinion..
    Suggestion and Experience welcome...

    Frnds,
    1. If the question was asked in ENGLISH(Fully/partially)...
(a)Begin the reply in English and complete in English, if ur comfortable.
    (b) If you are little bit Ok i English... begin in English.. mix hindi, if required, to convey the correct answer. Finish off in Hindi/English.
    (c) If ur very weak in English, but u have understood the question fully, Start replying in Hindi finish off in Hindi and if possible, add few English word.

  90. dekhiye nctc ka proposal chidambaram leke aya tha. iske madhyam se yjona thi ki terorists aur unke helpers ko central govt. directly raid kar ke pakar legi. question mein nctc ke current format ka pros and cons likhna tha.

so positive points are that -
    1. kuch state govts. me corrupt police hai usko sideline kar diya jayega.

    2. state machinery se co-ordination me kabhi kabhi bahut time lag jata hai aur shikar bhag jata hai, wo time bachega

    3. kabhi agar state ki rulling party political gains ke liye kisi anti-national activity se involve hoti hai to centre ko aise cases uncover karne mein asani hogi.

negative points of nctc are -

    1. many highly experienced police/IB (intel. beauro) officials are against it, because the nctc directorate was proposed to be directly under IB. by nature, most of the operations of IB are carried out in under-cover mode. if an agency like nctc ( which is doing direct raids, arrest etc) is placed under IB then it can expose the working style of IB which is a top class secret... simply because arrests etc are subject to court review and nctc going to court means IB secrets being publicly inspected.

    2. second objection was from state ruling parties, specially non-congress chief ministers, they said the centre can use nctc to arm-twist and blackmail state leaders just like the CBI is currently being used by union. this finally amounts to making the states weaker compared to centre and thus makes the federal balance of powers tilt in favor of cnetre.

    3. third problem put up by experts in police forces ( both centre and state officers) was that any city's local police has a definite amount of ego and intervention in their territory without their prior knowledge will hurt that ego. there have been cases in maharashtra and north-east where local police even threatened to sabotage the operations which were initiated without taking them in confidence. such is the ground reality of india.

so....after f;lat denial by states, mr. chidambaram slightly modified his framework and said that "OK WE WILL INFORM STATE POLICE DGP BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY OPERATIONS" ....but the state CM's were not happy with this little cosmetic change,,, they still call it a dirty game plan of union govt. to attack the autonomy of states. the states clearly deny such a proposal on the pretext of the fact that law and order is a state govt. responsibility and centre should never try to take-over exclusive controls of any such matters that relate to law and order.

so this is what i wrote in bpsc.

your comments are welcome and look forward to more discussions too,

    thanks
    ratnesh

  92. Q. Indian federal structure and centre-state relation in context of NCTC.
Ans. THE OUTLINE OF ANSWER IS AS FOLLOWS----
After independence India adopted the federal structure for, perhaps, administrative convenience
The state did not impose compulsions. That is why limited autonomy has been given to the states. There is dual policy, with the Union government at the centre and the state governments at the periphery—each enjoying powers assigned to them. The autonomy of the states is so adjusted with the centre that the latter can perform its function of ensuring unity of the country.
    1. centre state relation has been mentioned in indian constitution between article 245-263
2.The legislative relations between the centre and the states determined in accordance with the provisions of the Article 246 of the Constitution. The legislative powers are categorized in three lists—Union Lists with 97 subjects, States List with 66 and Concurrent

    List with 47 subjects.
3.In the case of a conflict between the laws made by the state and the laws passed by the centre the central law will prevail. Clearly the centre is decidedly stronger as far as legislative powers are concerned.
4The executive power of every state must comply with the laws made by the Parliament. The executive power of the state should be exercised in a manner that it does not impede of prejudice the executive power of the Union. The centre can direct the states if matters of national importance are concerned
5 LAW And order is a state matter. here lies the whole controversy.
6.NCTC would be the umbrella body which would deal with terror threats within the country and would comprise the Intelligence Bureau’s Multi Agency Centre apart from the Joint Intelligence Committee, National Technical Research Organisation and the National Security Guards.
7.It would have powers under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act which would enable it to make searches, arresting powers and would also have the power to seek transcripts, data and other terror related material from any of the agencies in the country.
8.it wiil certainly make the state administrative machinery a mere spectator or at best a suporting actor which is clearly hamper the federal structure of constitution.
9.If its charter evolves around getting information from various agencies then what are the Joint Intelligence Agencies, the Multi Agencies and the State’s Intelligence Coordination units going to do.They are basically doing the same thing and the setting up of the NCTC could only lead to multiplicities of agencies.

    CRITICALLY EXAMINATION
NCTC might not be the ideal tool to curb the terrorism but centre and states must sit together and find an acceptable solution to the deadly menace.
The best intelligence always comes from the local police stations and there is a dire need to strengthen this wing first.

  97. RATNESH jee,i think question was abt discuss indian federal system and administrative ralation in the context of NCTC..bt ur ans seems like discussing NCTC in context of state police administration and poltics, and so on...just i feel wt,i m discribing here.dnt mind.
    NEELKAML jee answer was good.
i hv written wt is indian federal system and wt r c-s administrative relation[not legislative relation and financial relation],and why conrtrovercy is in c-s administrative relation and in fedral system because of NCTC.

    ReplyDelete
  98. in the above question discussion was required on indian federal structure and centre-state relation in context of NCTC. ratnesh je your answer is somewhat deviated from the theme of question.answer of Neelkamal seems to be concentrated on and around the core issue and requirements of the question. anyway, good efforts by both of you! thanks!

  100. i wrote a very similar answer to neelkamal but dit not write much about nctc except that it formed on the lines of established centre state relation and can become a matter of cotroversy by denying the states their justful rights. how much marks should i expect? i know that writing ans like ratnesh is difficult in exam environment but each of us require only a single sit out 356.hoping that there are not many people with the calibre of ratnesh and neelkamal.

    ReplyDelete

Sir, I am laborious, brilliant, honest and always dedicated to my works..

  139. i have a serious question thats troubling me for quite some time now.....

During the interview should we pretend to be 100% law abiding honest and going-by-the_book type of citizens or should we show a practical (and somewhat merky, stained, reallistic) form of our character to the interviewers?

Are there any xtra marks if we prove that we are 100% honest?

Is there a penalty if we show tht we r 100% honest?

Is there any gain if we show that we will swim with the current and never try swimming against it even if thats the call of duty?

I am getting confused here because in csat questions where they ask situational questions related to discharge of duty, the correct answers for all such questions in ias prelims as well as uppcs prelims is the answers where the officer is supposed to be 100% honest and going by the book type.....while in the interview board not all members are 100% honest and most certainly the chairman of commission is almost always the practical type .... So in front of such people if we say that we will always act as honest then such a response could damage our score i am afraid......

I've nver given interview so i am unsure how valid or baseless my fear is ...so i am expecting someone with more experience than me to comment on this issue and provide guidance regarding my dilemma.

Thanks to everyone who reads and/ or replies to it.
