JPSC 4th PT Result in July

Ranchi, June, 23:Recently appointed chairman Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Shiv Basant is expected to take charge on June 30. He is currently holding the top post of the State Finance Commission, is waiting for his application for voluntary retirement (VRS) getting cleared.

As per sources in the Personnel Department, the Jharkhand Government has sent his application to the Union Government couple of days ago and waiting for its approval on it.

“The State Government has cleared his case and a letter seeking VRS to Shiv Basant has been sent to New Delhi. As soon as we get the clearance, his services as IAS will come to an end. It will clear his ways joining the JPSC,” said a senior official of the Department.

Sources in the Government had indicated that Shiv Basant would join the JPSC on June 30 as its chairman.

His application of VRS is likely to be cleared within a week’s time from the Union Government with his retirement his tenure with the State Finance Commission will also come to an end.

The staffs in the JPSC have revealed that the already delayed result of the 4th Combined Civil Services PT would be released after Basant takes the charge. “Normal work is continuing. But the result is expected to come-up after his joining the office. As the Government has issued the notification (of Basant’s appointment) we would like to wait,” said a senior officer in JPSC.

Present administration in the commission is looking under-prepared as far as the result of preliminary exam is concerned. A section of examinees had complained about considerable number of questions repeated that had already being asked in the UPSC examination. With the Controller of Examination of JPSC recommending for re-examination, Basant’s decision would be extremely crucial in this matter.

The Government had decided on May 24 to Shiv Basant as full-fledged chairman of the Commission.

The post of the chairman of JPSC is vacant since the arrest of Dilip Prasad who was the last fulltime chairman of the JPSC. Currently Praveez Hassan, is officiating as acting-chairman in Commission.
